What you are about to read is one of the most beautiful original poems I have ever read. It was written by a woman who means more to me than she could ever know.
Her beautiful heart and being shines through in everything she does. She is a tremendous inspiration to me and I am not ashamed to state that I love her and I am so proud of her.
It is with much respect and admiration that I present, and share with you, her talent and beauty which emminates from her soul. She is my best friend and "sister".... she is Regina.

Far beneath the raging tides,
down where tranquility lies,
that is where I feel most free.
Like air gives birds a beautiful flight,
that is what seas give to me.
When I dive down in,
striving to go deeper still,
I am on my freedom breeze.
I stretch out my arms reaching ahead,
grasping and longing for ease.
Surrounded by embracing beauty I can fly.
Amid swirling aqua silk I can soar.
Turning my body in twisting spins,
I am released from all ties abhorred.

My gaze can see through the waves as I play.
And I can't help but smile.
Nothing can ever hurt me here.
Nothing binds me for awhile.
Even when I find sandy bottom,
I can still see the light.
I raise my face to the sunshine slicing through the waves.
It shows layers of beauty laced with warmth,
gliding through glistening cascades.
It is peace complete.
It is tranquility.
I am purely free.
A shackled soul's unbound to play.
A burdened heart's unchained to be.
I stay below in my watery skies
as long as I possibly can.
Again my arms raise, reaching to go forth, floating,
flying to the light.
Again I liberate. I spin in the swim, smiling,
yet feeling the pressure due.
My body breaks through the surface valiantly to breathe,
I have won the fight.
